Tracking Devices for Students – A Biblical, Personal, or Financial Issue?

The San Antonio school district is in the news for its latest tactic whose purpose is to increase revenues. Making noise about the issue are two unlikely entities – the ACLU and a Christian family whose daughter is in question.

A Biblical issue? Not at the present, but a potential precursor to the Biblical future. A personal issue? Yes, in the sense it is yet another infringement upon our personal activities and rights. A financial issue? Most definitely! It would seem that in order for the school to receive funding, a student only need be on campus and not in class. What does this have to do with the actual education of the student? Nothing!

Have our children come to be nothing more than dollars rather than students in our public education system? Apparently this is increasingly becoming the case. Where are the parents on this side of the issue?
